Meet Simone, our founder
I’m Simone, a mum of two, a learning and development professional and a specialist in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. I have spent years helping people understand why diversity matters, how to create equity and how to build cultures where everyone feels they belong.
As my boys entered early learning, I began thinking about how these ideas take root in childhood. Celebration days were full of joy, dress ups and activities, and I saw a beautiful opportunity to add something more. Children learn so much through simple stories and conversations, and I wanted to help bring the meaning behind these moments to life.
I created Aware Bear to offer educators thoughtful, easy to use tools that spark discussion and help children understand the why behind the moments we celebrate. When children learn the why, they grow into compassionate, confident and culturally aware individuals, which is the world I want for my boys and for every child.
